Great looking TV but poor packaging  
Last night we received our eagerly awaited TV (Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black) our first flat panel in the home). As I removed it from the packaging to my astonishment the FACE i.e. the GLASS SCREEN of the TV WAS NOT PROTECTED!! Instead they have foam "corners" for each corner of the TV that apparently are supposed to stabilize the TV in transit; however there is NO protection for the face of the TV (there is a thin almost see-through sheet of foam to protect from scratching).

Well guess what? My TV was cracked--and I mean BADLY. Like a jigsaw puzzle. After I got over the initial "Oh no!!" I was panicked that Id be hassled for returning it. To Amazons credit they have ordered a new (not refurbished) replacement due here next week. That said this experience put the fear in me. It has only further increased my apprehension at making large purchases like this from an online vendor. Awesome TV great price  
HD Television looks unreal on this TV. Actually it looks very real almost too real. Its bulky to setup by yourself (it is a large screen afterall) but connections are a breeze and it even connected and synced to my surround sound automatically which I was really impressed with. PS3 Wii cable surround sound all hooked up. The remote is great and responds flawlessly. I live in a lofted ceiling apartment and it looks huge. Great price for a great TV  
After much research and a bit of trepidation I went out and ordered this TV through Amazon.com. Bottom line: you will not find a better TV at this price. Do NOT buy a Samsung LCD TV (major defect)

I purchased a brand new Samsung LCD TV in Jan 08 and the first year was great with no problems. After about a year I started encountering problems with it when I power it on. Ill get these pink dots all over my screen requiring me to turn it off and then turn it back on numerous times. It usually takes a good 5 minutes for normal picture quality.

Ive contacted customer service and they offered me NO help saying that it was out of warranty and they were not aware of this problem. Considering how many people have filed complaints on here the BBB and other consumer groups they should be more helpful with this common problem.

Dont get me wrong the picture quality is great and it would be a great tv if it worked. But 2-3 years seems to be the average lifespan for Samsung LCDs and that is not what I expected for $1000+.

Great Picture Great Value  
We are very happy with this TV which we have been watching for over a month now. The picture quality was outstanding right out of the box hooked up to digital cable. Very minimal tweaking of picture settings needed to deliver an outstanding image. After doing all the research on the latest and greatest out there (LED and in particular true full array LED backlighting) I looked at the image quality of this TV at a local store and could not justify the extra $400+ for it. While I dont claim to be an expert I find the contrast and blacks to be very good on this TV and the overall image and color quality are excellent. The style of this TV is also nice and sleek and I especially like the ease of pivoting the TV on its stand which is a cool translucent cylinder. My regular old DVD player looks great playing on this TV and the HD content on digital cable blew me away. Definitely Worth It  
Disclosure: This is my first HD TV.

Summary: Worth the money buy it!

So I finally made the switch to HD and after hours of reviewing information online I settled for this TV. Overall Im really happy with it except for a few minor points:
- Remote: The remote doesnt work with my LG Blu-Ray player. I dont know why manufacturers insist on making their own proprietary format for remote controls codes but none the less it is a short coming
- Lack of wireless connectivity: Although this TV does support ethernet it requires an additional $60 adapter if you want it to connect wirelessly to the network. It is a shortcoming so make sure you are able to run a wire to the TV if you want to access networked content
- Update documentation: I tried to upgrade the firmware on this TV box and the documentation was nearly non-existent. Also it only works from a Windows based box sorry for you Mac/Linux lovers out there!

GREAT TV; GREAT PICTURE  

We looked around for quite awhile before deciding to perchase a samsung. This TV is better than we could have hoped. It is so clear and vivid. The options for display are incredible. They have tons of options for sound and picture. 1080p was well worth the price. We got 120 Hz and I can see a big difference especially when watching live HD sporting events. movies are great as well.

Very pleased with the delivery and price on Amazon. The TV is lighter than it looks and fit well into a standard mounting bracket which I would recommend. There is little to no glare on the screen so watching in the daytime is just as good as night. Overall very pleased. : 2010-09-15 05:04:37

So Far So Great  
Shipping was one day late but thats okay. No problems with packaging. Shipping company is called Pilot.

TV is in my bedroom. 46 in makes it feel big! Super sleek and super clean. No external speakers needed because sound is better than I thought and when sound is set on movie mode its richer and clearer.

I dunno why but I really like the 120 HZ. It may have a soap opera feel to it but its more realistic this way.

I got it for nine fourty nine no tax no shipping. Not the cheapest online but Ill pay extra cuz Amazon is legit.

Ok its Friday and work is over. Time to go enjoy my new friend Sammy.
